Coming Soon: 30 Ideas for the 30th District
We all know the problems facing Connecticut: Taxes are too high, the state is hemorrhaging jobs, and the legislature doesn’t have the answers. As your state representative, I will work together with Democrats and Republicans to find effective, thoughtful, and bipartisan solutions to Connecticut’s problems.
Jobs - In my lifetime, Connecticut has been among the least hospitable states to businesses. Not surprisingly, college graduates looking for jobs are fleeing the state at an alarming rate. If we streamline our state government, reduce taxes, and focus on the right areas, Connecticut can again be a state where businesses come to thrive.
Education - A smarter and smaller government will focus on the things that government is good at. At the top of this list is educating the young people of Connecticut. Schools do their best, but are crippled by unfunded mandates, overbearing testing, and legislators who don’t understand education. As a graduate student of education, I am committed to making our schools a top priority.
Bipartisanship - The Democrats in Hartford take a “my way or the highway” approach to governing. We will do no better by repeating their mistakes. Having worked closely in the past with Democrats, Republicans, and Independents, I can bring to Hartford the experience and commitment to working across party lines that it takes to get things done.
